Around the islands

Island-hopping is the best way to really appreciate Seychelles’ stunning diversity. Explore Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue, and discover their surrounding smaller islands. Schedule a trip to the incredible wild coral islands of Bird and Denis to the north, and also head to remote tropical getaways like Frégate, Desroches, and Alphonse. With 41 granitic islands and 74 low-lying sand cays, the archipelago has it all.

Accommodation ranges from rustic lodges to exclusive hotels. All offer a range of activities from swimming, snorkelling, diving to hiking, boat trips, and of course, incredible nature watching.

Natural playground

Seychelles’ warm turquoise waters are ideal for watersports. Beau Vallon Bay on Mahé Island is perfect for water skiing, windsurfing, and even paragliding. There are also conditions for surfing and kite-surfing, but you’ll need to bring your own kit. You can also try your hand at deep-sea fishing, with possible catches including marlin, sailfish, and tuna. Divers are in for a treat with dolphins, rays, turtles and the seasonal appearance of whale sharks waiting beneath the waves.

A hiker’s paradise

The archipelago offers plenty of opportunities for hikers to explore the lush tropical jungle and stunning nature trails. There are a number of well-marked routes that will take you through some amazing scenery, including rainforests, waterfalls, and breathtaking vistas overlooking pristine beaches and coral reefs. One notable hike is on Mahé, the Morne Blanc Nature Trail in Morne Seychellois National Park. Other popular hikes include La Digue’s Nid d’Aigle trail and Praslin’s Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve.

Out on the water

It goes without saying that Seychelles is a dream for those who love to be out on the water. It’s here that the azure ocean and glistening, secluded bays meets easy distances and calm conditions. You can hire single hulls or catamarans, either skippered or bare-boat, and explore the Inner or Outer Islands. Sailing is a year-round activity, although the southeast trades from May to September bring stronger winds and rougher seas.

Seychelles offers a truly exhilarating wealth of adventure in a stunning natural setting. Whether horse riding, hiking, zip lining, rock climbing, there is an adventure waiting for you, and the memories of a lifetime just waiting to be made.
