Ever since White Turf first took place 112 years ago, thousands of visitors have travelled to the frozen lake of St. Moritz to experience this truly unique spectacle. The 2019 meeting is set to be especially memorable as it’s the 80th edition of the world-renowned Grand Prix of St. Moritz – White Turf’s premier event. With 111,111 Swiss Francs available, it offers the highest prize purse of any horse race in Switzerland.
An essential part any racing event is having a flutter on the outcome. With the stakes raised the thrill increases and your adrenaline levels may even match the jockeys’. Therefore, from 2019, all entrance tickets include a betting coupon, which allows every visitor have a go at backing a winner. The betting tent is equipped with all technical comforts, not least good heating. To help you on your way, specialist experts are on hand with race-day observations and background knowledge about the horses, jockeys, trainers and owners.
Betting is not the only way to leave White Turf with a prize. Every racing programme carries the opportunity to take part in the Prix d’Honor raffle.
