Ever since its creation, Audemars Piguet has tirelessly explored new creative territories in terms of watchmaking techniques, complications, materials and designs, but also created synergies well beyond the world of Haute Horlogerie.

SAND GOLD: A NEW MATERIAL FOR AUDEMARS PIGUET’S ROYAL OAK

Audemars Piguet is delighted to introduce its very first timepiece crafted in sand gold, a new 18-carat gold alloy conferring rich plays of light. Hovering between white and pink gold, its colour changes depending on the angle and light, thus offering varied aesthetic possibilities. The Manufacture premieres this precious metal with the launch of a new Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Openworked in 41 mm. To complement the new gold case and bracelet, Audemars Piguet developed a matching sand-gold-toned hue to adorn the openworked bridges and mainplate of Calibre 2972, whose multilayered architecture takes centre stage on both sides of the watch. This new galvanic colour sits in subtle contrast with the rhodium-toned components of the movement’s inner workings to create a unique 3D effect. The result is a harmonious scene blending technical complexity with contemporary design.

AP COLLABORATES WITH WATCH COLLECTOR JOHN MAYER ON A STELLAR ROYAL OAK PERPETUAL CALENDAR

Audemars Piguet has teamed up with American singer, guitarist, watch collector and longstanding friend of the brand John Mayer to design the very last Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar limited edition equipped with the Manufacture’s selfwinding Calibre 5134. For the occasion, John Mayer has applied his collector’s sensibilities to create a distinctive timepiece, limited to 200 pieces, that combines the aesthetic power of the Royal Oak with the refinement and celestial roots of the perpetual calendar. The result is a timelessly elegant watch in 18-carat white gold, enhanced by a deep blue dial where every detail speaks in unison to create a landscape evocative of a crystal sky.
