Della Vite Prosecco launches into Travel Retail Sector

Della Vite Prosecco is proud to announce its debut into the travel retail market, just in time for the busy summer season. Leading global travel experience player, Avolta, will stock the award-winning sparkling wine in its World Duty Free stores at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports.  In addition, Lagardere Travel Retail will stock it in their stores at both Luton and London City airports. The listings signal Della Vite’s first entry into the travel retail market.

The offerings include Della Vite Prosecco Superiore DOCG (75cl) and Della Vite Prosecco D.O.C Treviso Rosé (75cl). Both wines are vegan certified and benefit from extended fermentation time and extended time on lees compared to standard Proseccos resulting in a premium expression of this much loved sparkling category.

Della Vite was born one evening over a glass of Prosecco, after Chloe, Poppy and Cara Delevingne recognised that between them they couldn’t name a single brand in the category and set out to bring their vision of a premium, sustainably produced Prosecco to life.

A trip to one of the most beautiful regions in Italy came next. Guided by the expertise of a third-generation, Italian wine-making family, Della Vite has elevated the sparkling wine category thanks to the craft and commitment of their wine-making community and is determined to shine a spotlight on how delicious Prosecco can be.

Della Vite is produced in the upper valleys of Cartizze in Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its outstanding natural beauty. Just north of Venice, on the edge of the Dolomites, this small but passionate local population is becoming known by insiders in the wine world for one thing: surprising, exceptional wine-making.

The best locally grown and hand-picked grapes, traditional winecraft with cutting-edge production techniques, incorporating solar power, vegan-certified ceramic filters and a state-of-the art lab that is completely unique, makes for a prosecco that punches above its weight and stands out from the crowd.

Nuna Heathcote, Co-Founder of Della Vite says,

“These partnerships are game-changing for us as a brand as we seek to expand our global reach and we cannot thank Avolta, and Lagardere enough, for coming on this journey with us. Both Avolta and Lagardare have a reputation for introducing the latest premium products to inspire customers and elevate their travel experience with the highest-quality products. Working with Rupert Firbank, a Duty Free veteran who has managed the relationships between all parties has been fantastic, and we look forward to working with him, Avolta and Lagardere, to create exciting campaigns around this listing in the months ahead.”

Rupert Firbank, Commercial Director says,

“Della Vite is a great fit for Travel Retail, delivering the exceptional quality of this aspirational brand at an accessible price point. We are very excited to be working with both Avolta and Lagardere, to bring an independent and fast growing brand with a tremendous following into travel retail. We are looking forward to working with them to bring the Prosecco category to life and to change the way the world perceives Prosecco. We have started staff training in the airports and are delighted with the enthusiastic reception for the wines.”

The listing will be supported by personal appearances over the summer from the Delevingnes, who have a combined instagram following of 45 million.

Poppy Delevingne, Co-Founder of Della Vite says,

“Since we came of age, Prosecco has been our circle’s obsession. On one particular night, of course over a bottle of Prosecco, one of us suggested, and the rest of us agreed, it was time to spread the gospel and make our own. We headed  for Valdobbiadene, the region where some of the best Prosecco in the world is made. In a remote corner of the valley, our new partners finally appeared. We found this beautiful family of third-generation makers, who have become like family to us. These days, when we get together, we’re not drinking any old Prosecco. The Winemakers’ family motto is ‘the long and steady way,’ and that is one I am fully on board with. Every time we plan to travel, we celebrate with a bottle of prosecco. We hope Della Vite becomes a part of your holiday traditions as it has become part of ours.”

Della Vite Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G

Rich and extra-dry with a highly mineral palate that lingers, the Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G is characterised by hints of crostini and chamomile. The palate is clean and bright with a mix of gooseberry and date notes within small, creamy bubbles. Perfect for mixing in cocktails. The liquid is fermented for 60 days – normally Prosecco is fermented for 30 days – Della Vite doubles the length of this process for 60, making for a smoother liquid with a long finish. 11.5% ABV

Della Vite DOC Treviso Rosé Prosecco

The Prosecco Rosé is elegant, pale coral pink in colour with an aromatic nose of freshly crushed wild berries and rhubarb. A bright, clean palate with delicate fruit flavours balanced by a creamy texture and fine bubbles, leading to a long, smooth finish thanks to the extra long fermentation process of 90 days.11.5% ABV
