To mark the 250th birthday of one of England’s most beloved writers, Tylney Hall is launching An Afternoon Tea Inspired by Jane Austen. From 1st May, Austen admirers, lovers of fine tea, and those who appreciate classic English traditions are invited to a unique literary-inspired experience. Book a table to be transported to the world of Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth Bennet, Fanny Price and Captain Wentworth.
A specially curated menu brings the flavours of Austen’s time to life. Highlights include:
Finger Sandwiches – Cucumber Crème Fraîche, served on Beetroot Bread; Ham with Caramelised Onion, served on Onion Bread
Mini Cheese Toasties – Jane Austen’s favourite snack
Tylney Buttermilk Scones – served with Clotted Cream and Strawberry and Vanilla Jam
Samples of Regency-inspired Pastries – Lavender and Cardamom Cake; Matcha Green Tea and Strawberry Choux
Signature Jane Austen Plum Cake
An Afternoon Tea Inspired by Jane Austen costs from £41.50 pp; or from £55.50 pp with a glass of Champagne or Gin. Available from 1st May to 30th November.
