Cue a tradition of excellence

Not only does snooker and pool provide hours of entertainment, with Sir William Bentley Billards you’ll play on the most stunning tables

It is no overstatement to say that the craftspeople of Sir William Bentley Billiards design and build some of the world’s most beautiful billiard tables. From their workshop in Marten, England, the company work closely with interior designers to create unique items that are designed specifically for the space they’ll occupy. The approach to the design is tailored to the client’s brief – from pencil sketches and prototypes right through to completion.

In each and every case a basic, a nondescript billiards table just won’t do. Every piece is special, and many of the company’s most popular designs are simply stunning snooker and pool tables designed as statement pieces.

Honing the skills of yesteryear

The origins of this family business lies in the restoration, renovation, and reproduction of antique billiard and billiard-dining tables, especially from the Victorian era. This was a time when the game was hugely popular, and the manufacture of the tables was at its height, indeed the quality and craft of the tables was an art form. Sir William Bentley Billiards aim to continue what they describe as “a tradition of excellence” – crafting bespoke pieces with the same attention to detail, and insistence on quality, as the Victorian table-makers. Across 40 years of restoration and bespoke creation, they have refined and developed the designs, detail and mechanisms, to meet their clients’ increasingly diverse and contemporary requirements.

For example, in some homes, the dining room is only used for special occasions and makes the ideal place to install a dual-purpose billiards table, easily converted into a stylish dining table.

Using only the finest wood, metal, slate and cloth, the focus is on each client’s complete satisfaction. As a result of their collaborative, tailored approach to design, Sir William Bentley Billiards has become globally renowned for the beauty of their tables, as well as lighting and other accessories.

Every piece is handcrafted to order and installed worldwide – from Macau to Mayfair, Australia to Aberdeen. Production times can be a few months, but, for those who can’t wait to own their very own Sir William Bentley masterpiece, there are always a few ex-demo and pre-owned tables in their showroom.
